Eco-Friendly Houses All Over the World

Glass Bottle House.

Another example of eco-friendly  building is Glass Bottle House in Nevada. The bottle house was built in the early 1900’s  in Rhyolite by Tom Kelly. He used about 30,000 bottles, most of which were Adulphous Busch. The manufacturer’s stamp can be seen on the bottom of most of the bottles. Now this place has a lot of history behind it! It was one of three bottle houses to be built in Rhyolite. But Mr.Kelly’s one was the largest! Thanks to Central Nevada Museum and Beatty Museum The Bottle House was rehabilitated in 2005. The foundation was stabilized, bottles replaced, the board covering the attic section of the Bottle House was removed and new bottles placed where they belonged. The South Wall was stabilized so that it was no longer necessary to have a brace holding it up.
