The luxury villa was built in 1922 by Clarence Busch, of the Anheuser-Busch brewing family, and Capone purchased it in 1928 for $40,000. The sprawling 10,000 square-foot, 7-bedroom estate sits on the exclusive Palm Island. Despite the dark history of the home’s most famous owner, the seven-bedroom hideaway has positively breezy features like a two-story cabana house, a private sandy beach and a breathtaking aqua-colored pool that, at 60 feet long and 30 feet wide. He invested a considerable amount renovating the property, adding a cabana, an above ground swimming pool, heavy wooden doors, concrete walls and a guard house. The building had a succession of wealthy owners after Capone’s death but fell into disrepair during the 1970s and 1980s. It was restored and put back on the market for nearly $10 million in 2011.
