House on the Vestmannaeyjar Archipelago – Ellidaey Island, Iceland
Often referred to as the “forever alone home” on the internet, this famous house is easily one of the most secluded and beautiful places on the planet. One island, one house, 5 families. At least 300 years ago this was the case. It was originally built for the puffin hunters but nowadays is hugely popular among the survivalists and casual tourists.
This tiny island called Elliðae is a part of an archipelago near Iceland and is only one of the few populated scraps of land in the vicinity. Oddly enough, the house is surrounded by a fence. Why? Probably to make people wonder and fend off any stray puffins.
